The Kannada Film Festival was inaugurated on 02 May 2023 at the National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka.
The Film Festival was jointly organised by the SVCC, High Commission of India, National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka, Bangalore Nagathihalli School of Cinema, PEN Sri Lanka and the AMCA.
The event was held under the auspices of H.E. Gopal Baglay, High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka. Special guests Hon. Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, Minister of Media, Transport and Highways Sri Lanka and Hon. Vidura Wickremanayake, Minister of Buddhashasana, Religious, and Cultural Affairs Sri Lanka graced the occasion.
On behalf of the SCC, Mrs. Renuka Ekanayake (Director) and Dr. Bina Gandhi Deori (Deputy Director Research) attended the film festival.
