A public lecture by Dr. Alaka Chudal, organised by the Embassy of Nepal in collaboration with the SAARC Cultural Centre, was successfully held on 18th January 2026 from 4.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. at the Municipal Council Auditorium.
The lecture, titled “Interpersonal Networks and the Making of Regional Buddhist Histories of India, Nepal and Sri Lanka in the 20th Century,” offered valuable insights into the historical and cultural connections among the three countries, highlighting the role of interpersonal networks in shaping regional Buddhist histories.
The event was attended by diplomats, representatives of different religious communities, officials from relevant ministries, as well as students, scholars, experts, and researchers. The lecture concluded successfully with engaging discussions and active participation from the audience.
